I just saw these posted on flickr. I absolutely LOVE them! And the book is just killing me. I was thinking about making a felt board and some shapes for the girls but this has me thinking about a book now, too! I hope you’ll share with us when your friend opens up shop!

These are one of those things you slap your forehead and say “why didn’t I think of that?!” They remind me of the fisher price little people I played with for HOURS when I was young, but sooo much better!
I just read your previous post too and you are so incredibly talented!!! You could open an etsy shop in a heartbeat. I am very inspired by your work

I just made some playsets with the wooden dolls. Your are cute!
January 10, 2008 at 9:06 pm
Wow, both of those gifts are just absolutely touching and special and I could imagine them being played with and treasured for years. And ending up sort of family heirlooms. Guess that’s what handmade’s all about !

I love both of these ideas! The little dolls remind me so much of some that my great uncle painted for me as a child. He would dress them in clothes and I particularly remember one with a little lace handkerchief on her head. So sweet. We plan to make some fairy dolls this weekend.
I have been meaning to try the felt books as well. Is the book made of wool felt? I seem to have problems getting the acrylic stuff to hold up, but it’s hard to find the wool in bright colors, so I usually try to go with a blend. Does anyone know any great felt sources?
